Welcome Students!
Mood:  bright

This blog is for you!  We want you to be able to visit with one another about your school presentations!

Before your inservice presentation is completed, you need to log onto the blog to share your experiences setting up the presentation -- successes and challenges.  you can actually help one another to solve any issues that may come up.  After your presentatin, you can also share how things went and what the outcomes are.  The purpose is to get the language of prevention into the classrooms of teachers all over San Juan County!

 Inservice Requirement

Plan a teacher presentation, minmum of 45 minutes.  The best case scenario is to provide the presentation at an in-service or staff meeting at your school.  if that isn't possible, you could recruit teachers who are interested and give the presentation after school or at a convenient time.  It may be necessary for you to team up with one of your classmates to do the presentation at your classmate's school.

Report Requirement

After completing your in-service, write a 2-3 page report that includes the following:

  • How did you get your presentation set up?
  • How did you design your presentation?
  • What theories did you include?
  • What specific examples of the "Language of Prevention" did you use?
  • How many participants did you have and who were they?
  • What was the response from those who attended the presentation?
  • Were any teachers interested in more information or taking the class?
  • What, if anything, do you see your school doing as a result of your presentaiton?

This report needs to be turned in the week of April 5 at a 1 hour follow up session.

Good luck and thank you so much for being a part of the course!
